The Learning Centre: a dentistry AI for learning, not deciding

Two educational tools in one place: a dentistry AI for learning techniques, materials and treatment options, and a drug interaction explorer for understanding how medicines affect each other.

Updated

Dentistry never stops moving. New materials, new bonding protocols, new evidence, and patients on longer medication lists every year. The Learning Centre is where myCliniBot helps you and your team keep learning. It brings together a dentistry AI you can question in plain English and a drug interaction explorer that explains how medicines affect each other. Both are educational. Neither is a clinical tool.

The dentistry AI

Open the Smart Assistant from the navigation and ask a question the way you would ask a tutor at a study club. It understands dental terminology and the UK practice context, so a question about when glass ionomer is typically preferred over composite, or how bonding to zirconia works, lands exactly as intended.

  • Clinical techniques. How restorative, endodontic, surgical and prosthodontic procedures are carried out, including isolation methods and common pitfalls.
  • Adhesive dentistry. The principles behind bonding to enamel, dentine, ceramic and metal, and why surface preparation differs for lithium disilicate and zirconia.
  • Treatment options. How implant, cosmetic and full mouth rehabilitation options are typically compared and sequenced, as background learning rather than a plan for any patient.
  • Materials. The properties of composite, amalgam, glass ionomer, ceramics, temporary materials and cements, and where each tends to be used.
  • Patient communication. Clear ways to explain procedures, risks and benefits, useful for training the whole team.

It works well for CPD reading, refreshing a topic you have not touched in a while, preparing for exams, and helping junior team members and nurses understand the dentistry behind what they see in surgery. Always cross-reference what you learn against current guidelines.

The drug interaction explorer

The Drug Interaction Checker combines RxNorm, the drug database from the NIH National Library of Medicine, with AI analysis to explain how medicines commonly used in dentistry interact with others. Every lookup is a fresh analysis and results arrive in seconds.

  1. Enter the medicines you want to learn about

Start typing and autocomplete suggests from the RxNorm database. Generic and brand names are both recognised, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.

  2. Add a medicine commonly used in dentistry

For example amoxicillin, metronidazole or ibuprofen.

  3. See how they interact

Each combination is given a severity level with a plain-English explanation of the mechanism behind it.

Interactions are graded from severe through moderate to minor and none. Each explanation covers why the interaction happens, which is the part that builds lasting understanding. A classic example to explore is how some antibiotics and anti-inflammatories interact with warfarin, a combination every dental team should understand.

Common questions about the Learning Centre

Can the Learning Centre be used to make clinical decisions?
No. It is an educational resource for learning about dentistry and drug interactions. It should not be used to support clinical decisions. Patient care decisions rest on your clinical judgement, current BNF guidance and specialist advice.
What is the drug interaction information based on?
It draws on RxNorm, the drug terminology database maintained by the NIH National Library of Medicine, combined with AI analysis focused on medicines used in dentistry.
Does the dentistry AI answer questions outside dentistry?
It is built for dentistry: terminology, UK practice context and dental evidence. That focus keeps its explanations relevant to dental teams rather than generic.
